THE LifeStyled COMPANY began as my dream, not a family dream. Some businesses start from hobbies and some start with a path, a plan, maybe even a calling, right from day one. This is one of them. I always knew I would work for myself. At first I thought I saw myself transitioning the love and talent I have for design into event planning (since that's where most of my professional background was). As much as I love events, after a few years of doing events at a resort and really digging into what owning an event planning firm entailed, it seemed liked I'd be spending even less time at events with my family and more time at events with clients! Great business, super rewarding, but my family unit is number one. Period. So, I kept searching... doing research, thinking about what really made me feel good. Thinking about what spending my days (days near and days far) looked like. During this same time, we bought our first home and got pregnant with our first daughter! After the whole, "I'm going to be a Mommy" thing sunk in, the next thought was, "how shall I style her room?!". It's like with that one space, four small walls and a single window, this whole thing was born. I still think about that very first space I ever designed from scratch, with a purpose and a plan, and get teary eyed. We finished that space in April and Harper Rose wasn't born until July. I went and stood in the doorway of her room, every single day when I woke up and before I went to bed. Those walls were telling me something. They were talking to me. They were telling me to let go and take action! That space ended up being recognized and winning on ProjectNursery.com! Talk about an amazing feeling! Shortly after, I started my blog, quit my full time job and took a HUGE leap of faith. Fast forward to a few houses later, 2 1/2 years in business, another daughter, and an absolute amazing support system, and here we are. Once we realized this dream called THE LifeStyled COMPANY had the makings to become our family business, we (Vince, my husband and I) were determined to figure out how to make it happen. If you've been following on Instagram or Facebook you've seen a really cryptic quote about following your dreams, a picture close up of a vintage front door, a picture of me holding a pen and lastly, today, a picture of my feeties all dressed up in my TB's in a bunch of insulation and drywall! HERE IT IS! -------------------------------------> Vince and I have joined forces to announce and expand with LifeStyled HOMES! What does all this mean? We bought our first investment property to rehab, reno and reintroduce! Basically, we bought a FLIP! I was dreaming big with that first inspirational photo, showing you the front door of the home, signing for it at the title company and today, standing in what will be the Great Room on day one of demo day (yes in my TBs... clearly I'm a first timer)! We're starting out with a little 1970s bungalow in Mesa, located in the Heritage Park area. It's seen better days but that's the whole point! When we get done with it, this place will be an absolute gem! I'll be sharing the specific design plans for this little house on Hoover Avenue as things progress but for now, that's the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! LifeStyled HOMES will soon be buying, renovating and selling under market properties with clients in mind. We'll be looking for individuals and families who want a highly stylized home but may not have the time, skills, knowledge or resources to do it on their own. You'll be able to buy with us, design and style with us, purchase with us and then live in this gorgeously styled space, without all the cash and headaches of running your own renovations. Oh and these homes will be created just for you and your family. For now, meet the house on Hoover Avenue! The nuts and bolts of all this are still very much unfolding, so as things progress, I'll be sure to share them with you here first! We are so excited, ecstatic in fact! We can't wait to create a new experience in the real estate and design community here in Arizona, and hope to see our ground work GROW into other areas in the near future.
