Flooring is an integral part of the design process and the material you choose should be guided by a clear vision, inspiration and style. Organic Desert Living®, our trademarked aesthetic, has always influenced our designs and served as inspiration for the colors, patterns and textures of the materials we design with.
In my home, #theODLhouse, I went with one of our tried and trues!
Dolcetto from the Chêne line at Urban Floor, is a 7.5” European oak engineered hardwood plank with a soft, neutral stain. No two planks are exactly alike, each being wire brushed to enhance its natural grain and is completed with a matte finish to enhance the unique character of each piece. The type of flooring you choose can affect how a design feels in any given space, which is why I kept my flooring choice consistent throughout the main footprint of my home. Even though I placed a variety of natural stones and materials throughout my home, there is a sense of cohesion because this particular flooring spec is neutral and ties everything together.
In almost all of our projects we opt for engineered hardwood over other flooring options like luxury vinyl plank or wood grain tile because of its warmth and natural properties...but without the maintenance. Engineered hardwood is also timeless in its organic and airy aesthetic, providing durability that will last for many years to come. We’ve found that any Urban Floor product we use holds up especially well in high traffic areas, so it’s safe to use in virtually any space in your home. They also have a wide variety of different wood tones, plank widths and various sizes that cater to any aesthetic!

DESIGNER TIP:
Take your flooring elsewhere!
I used the flooring for my floors, and placed it up the wall in my mudroom for added warmth in this area, as well as visual intrigue.
Don't be afraid to experiment and place flooring materials in nontraditional areas!

Due to supply chain challenges within the industry, stock levels are constantly changing. If Dolcetto from Urban Floor's Chêne line is sold out, our next choice would be Grigio, also from the Chêne line.

Reading about the flooring at #TheODLHouse had me in stitches—didn’t realize my life was lacking in hardwood humor! Sponsored by Urban Floor, because apparently, laughter isn’t the only thing that should be floored. 🤣🏡 #SponsoredBySilliness #LaughingOnLaminate
