Lead Designer
We are looking for an EXPERIENCED Lead Designer to join our team of talented, driven and highly creative individuals. THELIFESTYLEDCO® is expanding rapidly and we are looking for an addition who can bring a balanced and positive skill set to our close knit team. Our Design Team members are self-directed individuals, extremely detail oriented, have killer project management skills and a design eye to compliment! The right candidate is experienced and passionate about interior design, new builds, building materials and the technical requirements to make all of it happen and hit the ground running!
This role is ideal for a design professional who thrives in a fast-paced luxury residential environment, leads with confidence and kindness, and possesses both exceptional creative instincts and strong technical expertise. Our designers are self-directed, detail-obsessed, highly organized individuals who can seamlessly manage multiple projects while delivering an unparalleled client experience from concept through installation.
Working under the creative direction of Founder & Principal Designer, Kristen Forgione, the Lead Designer will oversee all aspects of residential design projects — from initial client meetings and construction collaboration to sourcing, specification development, and final styling execution.
We are looking for someone who genuinely lives and breathes design, understands the nuances of luxury residential construction, and is excited to contribute to a rapidly growing brand with a strong point of view and a people-first culture.
Job description, included but not limited to:

Work with clients to design, build or renovate spaces to meet their standards and design expectation of THELIFESTYLEDCO®, with the overall direction of Kristen Forgione, Creative Director and Principal Designer and other senior leadership

Strive for excellence in driving company policies, revenues and growth opportunities while mitigating risk on an ongoing basis

Assist the Design Team as required with any and all tasks

Assist in all aspects of project on behalf of client and firm, as needed
-
Plan and render architectural detail such as tile elevations, ceiling details, cabinet designs, etc
-
Read and interpret blueprints while providing detailed feedback
-
Sample prep, sample library and overall Design presentation work as required

Maintain operations in Asana and communicate to the team where changes/updates/enhancements need to be made

Work with vendors on the selection/creation of pieces
-
Negotiate prices/estimates where applicable
-
Plan and estimate budgets for projects while focusing on accuracy
-
Provide SketchUp/render specifications firm wide, as needed
-
Supervise load in, lighting installations, styling items to execute fully designed and installed spaces
-
Have a working knowledge of custom furniture processes and requirements
-
Working knowledge of stock furniture and industry partners

Working knowledge of custom window treatments/specialty fabrics
-
Coordinate and Contract out services to other vendors in collaboration with the team

Communicate with the office as a whole and keep others informed within project updates

Coordinate schedules, sourcing, pick-ups, measurement appointments, etc in collaboration with the team

Extreme attention to detail with an overall desire to produce consistent, accurate work

Leadership to command the attention of a room and take control where applicable between clients and vendors.

Accountability and ownership of all aspects of projects in varying focuses

Collaborate and take redirection, positively within all aspects of role

Represent THELIFESTYLEDCO® at industry events or happenings as required

QUALIFICATIONS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

2-3 years previous Designer experience within a professional Design Firm/environment.

Eat, Sleep and Breathe Design and Organic Desert Living®.

Strong sense of urgency.

SketchUp or AutoCAD EXPERT level is a MUST.
-
Strong skills in Microsoft Office/Google Sheets including Excel and PowerPoint.

Strong working knowledge of precise budget management and concepts.

Some working knowledge of project management platforms like Asana, Basecamp, or other.

Knowledge of finishes, materials, color selections and specifications between building materials and furniture/soft goods.

Knowledge of design requirements/build order/specifications for high end luxury residential properties.

Social Media understanding to collaborate between firm's social channels and your own.

Endless and boundless, energy and a strong desire to complete tasks in a timely manner.

Ability to travel where required.
