Stylist + Install Assistant
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented individual to support our Interior Design team and SIMPLESTYLED service through the styling and installation phases of projects. This is a part-time, project-based position based in Phoenix, Arizona with occasional travel.
You must be self-directed, highly organized, and possess exceptional styling skills with a refined design eye. The Stylist + Install Assistant collaborates with our design team to stage and install decor and accessories, ensuring every project reflects our signature Organic Desert Living® aesthetic.
This role combines hands-on work (install days, styling, errands) with behind-the-scenes coordination (prep, sourcing, and set-up), helping bring our design visions to life from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the design team during installations by unloading, moving, unpacking, and organizing decor, art, greenery, textiles, bedding, and accessories.
- Prepare for installs by creating binders, cleaning guides, and printed design boards.
- Execute hands-on styling — arranging pillows and throws, hanging art, curating vignettes, and refining spatial layouts to align with the design vision.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth installations, from setup to final cleanup.
- Be a team player — “YES” is the answer, “WHAT” is the question.
- Maintain and organize accessory inventories, styling kits, and decor storage while tracking returns and damages.
- Support behind the scenes by assisting with photo shoot prep, social media, and marketing styling as needed.
- Communicate effectively with designers, vendors, and contractors to ensure timelines and details are met.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and demonstrate accountability through follow-up and execution.
- Uphold the firm’s brand, values, and design aesthetic through all interactions and on-site work.
Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience in home decor styling — ideally in interior design, retail, or a similar creative environment.
- Strong visual eye with sensitivity to scale, texture, layering, and composition.
- Physical capability to lift, move, and position furnishings and decor items; comfortable working on-site and under deadlines.
- Highly organized with strong time-management and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate seamlessly with designers, vendors, and clients.
- Detail-oriented — every element placed with intention to create a polished, cohesive result.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Flexible availability for early mornings, travel, or extended install days.

Preferred Experience
- Accessory styling, home staging, or decor installation experience.
- Familiarity with current design trends and trade vendors.
- Comfortable with basic digital tools (spreadsheets, photo documentation, inventory management).
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can adapt quickly on install days.
