TECHNICAL DRAFTSPERSON - INTERIOR DESIGN
We are looking for an EXPERIENCED Technical Design Draftsperson to join our charismatic team of talented, driven individuals. The right candidate is experienced and passionate about the technical side of design while being extremely self directed and detail oriented.We’re seeking a partnership with an independent but dedicated technical wizard who takes pride in finishing our design sentences with elevations, 2D and 3D renderings and is eager to produce flawless specification and construction documents. Qualifications, including but not limited to:
Although this is a general outline of job qualifications, all partners are expected to be ''hands on'' and do whatever it takes to get the job done!
- Expert Level proficiency in SketchUp and Adobe Suite (InDesign + Photoshop) with a bonus for experience in 3D modeling tools.
- Extreme attention to detail + organization with an overall desire to produce consistent, accurate work with a strong focus on architectural design details
- Self direction in project management and task organization along with friendly and personable communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of building materials and trade resources from tile to cabinetry, windows, doors, appliances, suppliers, etc.
- Proven understanding of architectural and design principles, dimension standards and solid math + analytical skills
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to multitask while thinking forward and closing any gaps within information
- Self-starter with an understanding of Google Drive, project software and the ability to locate, reference and integrate project information
- Minimum of 2 years direct work experience in a technical capacity with design, construction or a related field as primary job function
- Knowledge of design requirements/build order/specifications for high end luxury residential properties
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Principal and Design Team to create technical design assets for all projects from Specification documents to elevations
- Develop 2D documents including dimensional floor plans, interior elevations and other technical details, ensuring accurate integration of design assets, materials and finishes
- Apply material and finish codes as specified in designer-created schemes
- Calculate dimensions and square footage for project budgeting and purchasing
- Converting plans between different drafting software as needed
- Review and Audit drawings for accuracy, ensuring they are aligned with design requirements before submission
- Identify and address spatial, proportional and fit discrepancies with project lead
- Collaborate with design team to find creative solutions to complex design challenges with timely revisions based on feedback
- Adhere to company organizational system and maintain consistency across all project files
- Conduct job site visits and take measurements as required while then translating them into continued work through technical revisions
COMPENSATION:
- 1099/Contract partnership, as needed, ongoing
- $25-$35 per hour DOE
- Largely remote but In office hours may be required on occasion along with site visits within the Phoenix metro area. Work day hours should mirror our team’s office hours of 8:30am-5pm
The Must Haves:
- Must be available to work in partnership where available with our office based Design Team in Phoenix, AZ
- Project/as needed work but hours weekly could range from 15-25, with some weeks requiring 40 hours based on project load.
- Work independently, have reliable transportation, and all technology/licenses required to perform aforementioned job duties
